Good News at Insight Training
In February 2008, the day before departure for a winter holiday, my wife, Sharon was diagnosed with Cancer and as you can imagine, this news rocked our family to its foundations.
The type of Cancer that she has is Malignant Melanoma and it first appeared as a mole on her thigh. (For women, the common place to find this is on the thigh and for men the common place is on the back)
After invasive operations, some really fantastic treatment at hospital and a new procedure called “sentinel node biopsy”, I’m delighted to report that on Tuesday 27 May, Sharon was given the “all-clear”. She now has to report back to hospital every 3 months for check ups.
We told only a very few people what was going on at the time because we didn’t want the conversations that may arise; we just wanted to carry on as normal wherever possible.
A special “thank you” goes out to our friends and clients who sent us their prayers, flowers and cards bearing good wishes; you really made a difference.
It’s at times like this when you’re faced with your own mortality that you discover what you’re really made of and Sharon passed this test with the highest honours possible; I only wish that I could be as strong if it happened to me.
Our gratitude goes out to Cancer Research for the development of this procedure and to the medical staff, Dr. Mohan and his team at Russells Hall Hospital.

Jeff, Sharon & girls, I am so pleased for you all that this most stressful time has had the right result.Knowing you both as I do, I knew that the strength and love you have for each other would get you through it.
Great News, all our best wishes,
Steve & Marg Topping.
Really good to hear some positive news from a cancer sufferer. We too have suffered recently with cancer in the family and I know how you must have felt when given the diagnosis. Obviously I do not know you personally but since our problem,I and my family have prayed for cancer suffers everywhere. In the hope they may be cured or at least not suffer during their prolonged illness. Maybe just maybe there is a god out there that listens.
Glad to hear that all is ok now for Sharon. Trish had to have a lumpectomy a couple of years ago, and I know how the uncertainty, treatment and worry of this sort of problem dominates your lives. Glad to say she has had the all clear, but it does make you realise how fragile life can be.
Best wishes
Roger
Sharon
Congratulations on your great news.Ido not personally know you but as with most people cancer has ‘touched’ someone close to me over the years. Thankfully ‘goodnews’ story’s are becoming more prevalent, and lets hope medical advances continue that trend.
Jeff’s words are a credit to you and many more who fight without ill words or anger…and win!
kind regards
Nigel

Jeff
I just wanted to drop you and Sharon a quick note.
Just over two years ago my wife and I faced the biggest crisis of our life together. (We have known each other since 1975, and were married in 1979) Her father was diagnosed with a terminal illness, and around the same time her mum was beginning to develop a rapidly deteriorating form of dementia.
The experience and journey that we have both been through has of course been a deeply painful one. But it is one that has been shared between us. It is an experience which has definitely brought us closer together, and given us a greater appreciation, and affection for each other.
I hope that Sharon continues to grow healthier and stronger for the future, and I would like to wish her all the very best. I am sure that with your support she will be able to put this behind her, and get on with enjoying her life.
Sincere and heartfelt regards
Hi Jeff, I got a real fright when I read about Sharon!
Pleased to hear she is OK
